There’s delayed blogging of an outfit you’ve sewn…and then there’s delayed blogging. This is a dress I made in Spring, for Spring. Here in Australia, it’s now Autumn.
Better late then never, perhaps?
The pattern I used is from Lekala – a Russian digital custom-fit pattern company which I discovered through the lovely Hungarian blogger Réka of Red Heels. Ironically, I found myself drawn to Lekala’s designs for very similar reasons to Réka as the design aesthetics in Lekala patterns tend to be more feminine and fitted (something that I prefer being petite) than many of the indie patterns at the moment.
I chose this pattern (#4263) primarily for the neckline and if I had any other semi-decent photos of this outfit, I’d show you a close-up of said neckline. But while trying to take photos of this dress, my tripod broke and well…things didn’t really go to plan.
The fabric is a poly-cotton from Spotlight which I chose purely for the print – it was all but screaming ‘Spring Time’ when I saw it! I’ve almost finished another dress of this same pattern, this time in a floaty rayon.
Since my second Lekala #4263 dress is an Autumn make, I suppose I’ll blog that come Spring??
