A little while ago, I visited the Maleny Botanic Gardens on the Sunshine Coast. A shower of rain had just ended, leaving gorgeous flowers bathed in rain drops. I love the stillness and quiet that’s found in nature just after rain. There’s something incredibly peaceful found in these moments.
As a bonus, the rain seemed to have scared off other visitors, so wandering through the winding paths, it felt like we had the whole garden to ourselves!
It’s hard to imagine, but these gardens used to be nothing more than a cow paddock before the owner decided to convert it into a garden. Pretty incredible, right?
I’m fairly certain I didn’t cover the all the gardens completely – they span about 16 acres with more than six kilometres of walking paths. But I definitely feel like I got my flower fix from meandering through these gardens so I’m more than happy with that.
